Are any of the Aleutian Islands inhabited? Some 8000 people live on the larger islands, about half on Unalaska . The 4000 people not on Unalaska are widely dispersed in small groups on the other islands, with a little over 1000 in Akutan, 326 in Adak, 64 in Unimak, 61 in Atka, and 16 in Nikolski.
