Oncocytic tumours can be non cancerous (benign) or cancerous . Benign tumours are called oncocytic adenomas. Oncocytic thyroid cancer can sometimes spread to lymph nodes or to other parts of the body. Oncocytic thyroid cancer is most often diagnosed in people older than 40, and is more common in women.
