The law specifically allows a court to order the respondent to refrain from intentionally injuring or killing, without justification, any companion animal.
Article 8 sets forth specific family offenses which if proved can lead to the issuance of an order of protection (aka restraining order in other jurisdictions).
The family court and the criminal courts shall have concurrent jurisdiction over any proceeding concerning acts which would constitute disorderly conduct.
