The Battle of Swally, also known as the Battle of Suvali, was a naval warfare fought on 29 November 1612 off the coast of Suvali, a village near Surat city in Gujarat, India . The battle was fought between the British East India Company forces led by Captain Thomas Best and the Portuguese.
