Below lake Dillon some of the largest trout in Summit County have been caught, mostly on tiny midges and shrimp patterns.

The Blue below Dillion and Green Mountain reservoirs are excellent fisheries, although the Trout can be finicky and small flies and light tippets are required.

Our Blue River fishing report includes both sections. The trout probably average about ten to fifteen inches. They consist of browns, rainbows and brook trout.
