To prepare it, soak chana dal, grind it coarsely, and mix it with finely chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, curry leaves, asafoetida, and salt. Deep-fry small patties of this mixture until they are golden brown and crispy. Drain excess oil on paper towels and serve the Parippu Vada hot with coconut chutney or tea.
