5 “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.

Moses prohibited wearing clothes of the opposite sex. Moses then told Israel that a woman shall not wear man's clothing (v. 5).

Reading the text literally, Deut 22:5 appears to condemn cross-dressing, that is, males wearing female clothes and vice versa.
