Other natural predators feed on tuna such as large pelagic sharks and killer whales (Orcinus orca) (Fromentin and Powers, 2005). Killer whales have been observed in the Strait for centuries (Horozco, 1998, Richard, 1936, Aloncle, 1964). Stable isotope analyses suggest that their main prey is tuna (García-Tiscar, 2009).
