We can perform synthetic division to find the other factors. As before, we take the coefficients of the original cubic equation, which are 1, 0, −7 and −6.
The formulas that indicate the relation between roots and the coefficients of a cubic polynomial are: p + q + r = - b/a; pq + qr + rp = c/a; pqr = - d/a.
Step 2: Find the other roots either by inspection or by synthetic division. 2x3 + 3x2 – 11x – 6 = (x – 2)(ax2 + bx + c)

In a cubic equation, the highest exponent is 3, the equation has 3 solutions/roots, and the equation itself takes the form ax^3+bx^2+cx+d=0.
For simple cases, try factoring or synthetic division. For more complex cases, use numerical methods like Newton-Raphson or software tools.
