Hydathodes are the minor openings at the leaf tip which is uncovered by the cuticle (Fig. 4), this allows guttation of surplus water through the leaves of herbaceous crop plants, such as mustard, grasses, and Saxifragaceae (saxifrage family; Huang, 1986).
