Import a suitable bitmap image by using the menu File ‣ Import. Select the image with the Selector tool. In the menu, go to Path ‣ Trace Bitmap.

Right click on the image and choose Trace Bitmap. Click on the Live Preview box. You may need to adjust the Brightness cutoff setting.

Trace Bitmap works. It draws a path around what it sees, even if what it's looking at, to humans, looks like a line.
