MYTH #1 : All wood is equal in pyrography. I would 1000% avoid pine and plywood . Each kind burns differently. And it is a preference thing. It's just pine is really difficult with the soft/hardness and plywood straight up has dangerous fumes due to the glue they use when in manufacturing.

It takes me about 3 times longer to burn art on pine than the other woods just because of it's grain and super sappiness AND I had to burn at a 6-7 level ...
Examples of other things people burn a LOT that should NEVER be burned are wood pallets, plywood, and chipboard. It's been chemically treated, peeps. All of it.
