הוְאַתָּ֛ה תְּבַקֶּשׁ־לְךָ֥ גְדֹל֖וֹת אַל־תְּבַקֵּ֑שׁ כִּ֡י הִֽנְנִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא רָעָ֚ה עַל־כָּל־בָּשָׂר֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה וְנָֽתַתִּ֨י לְךָ֚ אֶת־נַפְשְׁךָ֙ לְשָׁלָ֔ל עַ֥ל כָּל־הַמְּקֹמ֖וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר תֵּֽלֶךְ־שָֽׁם:.

Jeremiah promised to faithfully deliver whatever word God gave him for the leaders and commoners of those remaining in the land after the Babylonian exile.

1 All the army officers went to speak to the prophet Jeremiah. They included Kareah's son Johanan and Hoshaiah's son Jezaniah. All the people went with them.

Let the Lord be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not do according to everything which the Lord your God sends us by you.
