Today we read Jeremiah's famous 'Temple Sermon'. At the Jerusalem Temple itself Jeremiah preached against the shallow, superstitious trust in Temple sacrifices.

The prophet having in God's name reproved the people for their sins, and given them warning of the judgments of God that were coming upon them.

This sermon encourages listeners to move beyond shallow religious ritualism and to allow God to touch the inner man and deal with the sin in the heart.

This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Reform your ways (B) and your actions, and I will let you live (C) in this place.
