Here Christ discourses concerning the fruit, the fruits of the Spirit, which his disciples were to bring forth, under the similitude of a vine.

Abiding in Christ the Vine means change! John 15:5 notes that abiding means the opportunity to “bear much fruit.”

Jesus Christ is the Vine, the true Vine. The union of the human and Divine natures, and the fulness of the Spirit that is in him, resemble the root of the vine.

Jesus is in the middle of a long discourse given to the disciples, which began during the last supper. He presents the analogy of a vine and branches.

The way to bring others into the Christian faith is to show them the fruit of the Christian life. Jesus sends us out, not to argue men into Christianity, still ...

9 июн. 2023 г. · I wrote this commentary on John 15 as a way of explaining to myself what Jesus said to the Apostles the night of the Last Supper.

Pruned: "You are already clean" (John 15:3). Does that mean they will never get dirty again? No, but the Holy Spirit will clean them whenever they get dirty.

As you remain in Christ you will have firmer confidence, richer joy, greater stability, more communion with Jesus, and greater delight in the Lord your God.

(1) I am the true vine.—For the word “true,” comp. Note on John 1:9. The ideal truth, of which the natural vine is a figure, is fulfilled in Him.
