Why? Something of value has been restored to its proper place. God is glorified. A soul misses Hell. That which was unusable is available for the Master's use.

Luke 15 contains three parables about lost items. In each story, extreme measures are taken to seek the lost; when each is found, there is great rejoicing.

The discovery of the lost coin represents how one sinner repents of his sinful life and is brought back into relational harmony with God.

They murmured against him, saying that he was demeaning himself by eating with tax collectors and sinners. To answer this charge our Lord gave three parables.
