We propose a standard, unambiguous syntax specification for Markdown, along with a suite of comprehensive tests to validate Markdown implementations.

Spec Markdown. Renders Markdown with some additions into an HTML format commonly used for writing technical specification documents.

To create a heading, add number signs ( # ) in front of a word or phrase. The number of number signs you use should correspond to the heading level.
