Jesus praises the greatness of her faith and says it will be done for her as she desires. His intent was never to deny her a miracle.

What comes out of the Canaanite woman's heart is faith — certainty that Jesus has power enough for Israel and power enough to save her non-Israelite daughter.

The distress and trouble of her family brought a woman to Christ; and though it is need that drives us to Christ, yet we shall not therefore be driven from him.

A woman, and a poor Gentile, should express such strong faith in him; calling him Lord, owning him to be the Messiah, worshipping him as God.
