Polymethylmethacrylate can be produced by cell casting or extrusion. Plexiglass and acrylic are used interchangeably for materials manufactured by either of those processes . But Plexiglas®, the trademarked material, is made only via cell cast. An extruded acrylic would never be referred to as Plexiglas®.
