Charles Spurgeon. PSALM 143. TITLE. A Psalm of David. It is so much like other Davidic psalms, that we accept the title without a moment's hesitation.
Study Psalm 143 using Charles H. Spurgeon's Treasury of David to better understand Scripture with full outline and verse meaning.
“A psalm of David.” Psalms 143:1. Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
The title of this psalm is simply A Psalm of David. It is another cry to God from a time of crisis and affliction because of David's many enemies.
This is a prayer about doing, but it is perfectly free from legal taint. The man who offered it had no idea of being saved by his doings.
This psalm, as those before, is a prayer of David, and full of complaints of the great distress and danger he was in, probably when Saul persecuted him.
