Psalm 96:1-9 calls all people of the earth and indeed the earth itself to sing praise to God and to worship God in God's temple.

This enthronement psalms (93; 95-99) calls the people to praise God (verses 1-3, 7-10a, 11-12a) and gives reasons why God is worthy of praise.

The last part of the psalm says that the *LORD is king and that one day he will come and rule the earth. He made (or fixed, verse 10) the earth in its place.

It is a call on all to celebrate the praises of the Lord in a "new" song - new, particularly, as it calls on "all the earth" to join in it.
