rarefaction definition physics - Axtarish в Google
Rarefaction is the reduction of an item's density, the opposite of compression . Like compression, which can travel in waves (sound waves, for instance), rarefaction waves also exist in nature. A common rarefaction wave is the area of low relative pressure following a shock wave (see picture).
Rarefaction is defined as the component of a wave in which a medium's particles are further apart. This area experiences low pressure.
Rarefaction, in the physics of sound, segment of one cycle of a longitudinal wave during its travel or motion, the other segment being compression.

A rarefaction is a region in a longitudinal wave where the particles are furthest apart. As seen in Figure 9.2, there are regions where the medium is compressed ...
Rarefaction is the reverse of compression in that it reduces the density of an item. Rarefaction waves are similar to compression waves.
A decrease in the density of something is rarefaction. As you climb a mountain, you experience rarefaction of the air; the air becomes less dense the higher up ...
compressions are regions of high pressure due to particles being close together. · rarefactions are regions of low pressure due to particles being spread further ...
Definition. Rarefactions are regions in a longitudinal wave where the particles are spread apart, resulting in a decrease in pressure and density.
Rarefaction refers to the reduction of local gas density in the vicinity of a target, often observed during processes like magnetron sputtering.
