Steps in the scouring process
  1. Set up a workspace.
  2. Weigh the fibers you will be scouring when they are dry.
  3. Calculate and weigh the soda ash and detergent.
  4. Wet out fibers.
  5. Dissolve powders and add to scouring pot.
  6. Add water to the pot.
  7. Heat bath with fiber to a boil for one to two hours.
  8. Cool the fiber in the scouring bath.
