Softwood cuttings (leafed cuttings) are young soft succulent cuttings with leaves (sometimes pruned). Hardwood cuttings are made of matured, dormant hardwood after the leaves have been shed. Tip cuttings possess terminal buds; basal cuttings are without terminal buds.
