This normally takes 2 to 3 hours. For a better sear I like to chill it in an ice bath for 5 to 10 minutes so I can render the fat longer without overcooking it.
Our favorite way to cook duck breast is by presearing the skin to render subcutaneous fat, then cooking it sous vide to a perfect rosy medium.
