Sushi rice is made with white short grain rice (usually) mixed with a mixture of rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. The rice wouldn't be sushi rice until you add the vinegar mixture. Sticky rice is a different type of rice that contains only one of two starch components found in rice (it has amylopectin but not amylose).
