Tree-of-heaven is native to Taiwan and central China, where it occurs from 22 o to 34 o N in latitude [304]. It is nonnative in North America, where it is distributed from British Columbia, southern Ontario and Quebec, and Maine south to Florida, Texas, southern California, and Mexico [105,158,208,297,328].
