UMass Lowell acquired the Tsongas Arena on February 5th of 2010 from the city of Lowell. UMass Lowell renamed the arena to the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell.

Tsongas Center, completed in 1998, is a 6,000-seat multi-purpose facility and home to the UMass Lowell River Hawks Division I ice hockey team.
