Tú is a subject pronoun and is generally only used as the subject of a sentence. Ti is used as the object of a prepostion. There are some exceptions, though.
But what does the addition of A ti at the beginning do for the phrase? It simply adds emphasis to the "you," the translation would be same even if it wasn't ...
When it comes after a preposition, yo changes to mí, and tú to ti. No puedo vivir sin tú ti. I can't live without you. Hazlo por yo mí. Do it for me.
