why are shrimp not kosher - Axtarish в Google
Pigs are not ruminants, so they are not kosher. Animals that live in water can only be eaten if they have fins and scales. This means that shrimps, prawns and squid are not fish in the true sense , and so they are just as non-kosher as the eel which has lost its fins through evolution.
For a fish or seafood to be Kosher, it must have fins and scales. All seafood such as shrimp that do not have those Kosher signs are not Kosher.
As we explained, the simple reason they aren't kosher is because they do not have fins and scales.
Along with all seafood other than fish with fins and scales, shrimp is not kosher (see Leviticus 11:9). For more, see All About Kosher Fish.
